At Poultry Pal LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the information you provide when using our app, Coop Companion, and related services.
Information We Collect
When you use Coop Companion, we may collect the following types of information:
Images and Photos: Users may upload images of chickens for analysis (breed and gender detection) and storage in the “My Flock” page.
Chicken Data: Users can input and save information such as breed, gender, health notes, treatments, and personal notes by date.
Device Information: We may collect basic device and usage data for analytics and performance improvement, including information such as browser type, IP address, time zone, cookies, a Firebase Installation ID, and usage statistics. These identifiers are used for app functionality and analytics, and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Some of this information is collected in an anonymous form and cannot identify you personally.
Diagnostic and Crash Data: Diagnostic and crash data may be collected in an anonymized or aggregated form to help identify bugs or crashes. This data is not used to personally identify users.
Personal Data You Provide: If you choose to register on our website or subscribe to features such as newsletters, you may provide personal details such as your first and last name, email, address, and payment information. If you sign up for our newsletter (through our website or inside the app), we collect your email address for that purpose.
Facebook Login Information:
If you choose to sign in with Facebook, we may receive certain account details such as your name, profile picture, email address, gender, and age range.
Your name and profile picture are used to personalize your Coop Companion account.
Your email address is only used if you explicitly subscribe to email newsletters or product updates in the app.
Your gender and age range may be used in an aggregated and anonymized way to help us understand our user base and improve marketing efforts.
We do not sell or share this information with third parties for advertising purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide AI-powered chicken breed and gender analysis.
Help users track chicken health symptoms and treatments.
Store chicken images and related information in the “My Flock” section so users can maintain detailed records of their chickens.
Improve app performance, functionality, and user experience.
Allow users to view, edit, and export or share their chickens’ photos and histories as a PDF.
Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of the service.
Send optional newsletters, feature or product updates, or product announcements. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us.
Linked and Non-Linked Data
Information such as your first and last name, email address, and uploaded chicken photos are linked to your account and identity. Diagnostic and crash data, device information, and general usage statistics are collected in an anonymized or aggregated form and are not linked to your personal identity.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Some data may be processed by trusted third-party services to provide core app functionality, such as:
Google Firebase (authentication, database, crash reporting, analytics)
OpenAI (AI image and text analysis) Chicken photos you upload may be securely transmitted to our AI service provider (OpenAI) solely for the purpose of breed and gender detection. These photos are not stored by OpenAI, are not used to train AI models, and are not shared for any other purpose.
Payment processors (if applicable, for in-app or subscription purchases) All in-app payments and subscriptions are processed securely through Apple’s App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit or debit card information. All payments are processed securely through Apple’s App Store. All third parties with access to user data are required to provide the same or stronger protection of your information as described in this Privacy Policy and required by Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines.
We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, government request, or to protect safety and legal rights.
Data Security
We follow industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure storage, and access controls. While we work to safeguard your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is stored only as long as necessary to provide you with Coop Companion’s features.
If you delete your account, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days unless we are required by law to retain it longer.
Crash logs and anonymized analytics data may be retained for up to 12 months to improve app performance.
Consent and Your Choices
By using Coop Companion, you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described in this policy.
You can control optional data collection at any time in the app’s Settings → Privacy section, including toggling analytics collection on/off and crash reporting on/off. Revoking these permissions does not affect your ability to use the core features of the app. You can also revoke all permissions with one tap. Newsletter subscriptions are optional. You may unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions in the email or by contacting us directly. You may also delete your account in the app’s Settings page, opt out of newsletters, or contact us directly. You may additionally request access, updates, export, or deletion of your information at any time.
Children’s Privacy
Coop Companion is intended for general audiences (rated 4+ in the App Store), but is not specifically marketed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal data, we will promptly delete it.
Your Rights
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you are entitled to additional rights under GDPR, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and objection. Please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal data we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of certain data practices. No Veterinary Advice
The information provided by Coop Companion, including through FlockDoc AI, is for informational purposes only and is not intended to replace professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We are not licensed veterinarians, and the app does not provide medical or veterinary care. Always seek the advice of a qualified veterinary professional regarding your chicken’s health, and never delay professional care because of information in the app. Use of the app is at your own risk, and Poultry Pal LLC disclaims liability for damages or injuries resulting from reliance on the app’s content or features.
No Tracking or Advertising
We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising, cross-app tracking, or marketing beyond optional newsletters that you can opt out of at any time.
Social Authentication
When you sign in with a third-party service such as Apple, Google, or Facebook, we may receive certain basic account information from that provider, such as your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this information solely to create and manage your Coop Companion account, enable login, and personalize your experience.
Depending on the service (Apple, Google, or Facebook), we may receive your name, email address, profile picture, and limited demographic data (such as age range or gender from Facebook). This information is only used to create and manage your Coop Companion account.
We do not share this information with third parties beyond what is necessary to provide authentication. Each provider’s use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy:

Data Deletion Instructions
You can delete your Coop Companion account and all associated data at any time.
In-App Deletion
Open the Coop Companion app.
Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete Account.
Confirm deletion.
Once confirmed, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain it longer.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date.
